To participate in a Data Carpentry workshop, you will need access to software as described below. In addition, you will need an up-to-date web browser.
We maintain a list of common issues that occur during installation as a reference for instructors that may be useful on the Configuration Problems and Solutions wiki page.
UCSB Summer 2023
Using the Jupyter Hub - No Setup Required!
For this workshop, we will be using Rstudio in an online Jupyter Hub Instance sponsored by LSIT with the software and libraries preinstalled. Please use your UCSB NETID to sign into the Jupyter Hub at: https://carpentryworkshop.lsit.ucsb.edu/.
Data
Data for this lesson is from Gapminder. The links to download the data are in Week 2: Project Management with Rstudio, but we will add them here for your convenience.
Download each of the data files listed below (Ctrl+S, right mouse click -> “Save as”, or File -> “Save page as”)
Please download them and move them to the same directory. You will need to upload the files to your Jupyter Hub environment. We will not be using these files until Week 2.
